Important Notice: Office Closure and Assistance During Maintenance Period

Dear Valued Customer,

As we approach the end of tax season, we want to express our deepest gratitude for choosing Baker's Tax and Accounting Service for your tax preparation needs. Your trust and support mean the world to us.

In line with our commitment to providing you with exceptional service, we will be temporarily closing our office for annual maintenance immediately following the conclusion of tax season. This closure will commence after April 15th to ensure our systems and operations are finely tuned to serve you better.

We are pleased to announce that our office will reopen on Tuesday, May 14th, and will remain open until Friday, May 17th, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Furthermore, we will be available one week per month during the subsequent months until October 15th, 2024, to address any post-tax season inquiries, appointments, or urgent matters. We understand that some matters cannot wait, even during our closure. Therefore, we will endeavor to assist you on an ongoing and as-needed basis, subject to availability.

2024  FAQ's

When does the 2023 IRS Tax Filing season begin? 
The 2023 IRS Tax Filing season will begin on Monday, January 29, 2024.
When does Baker's Tax and Accounting Service open for the 2023 IRS Tax Filing season? 
BTAS will open be open for business beginning on Thursday, January 25, 2023. 
How to schedule an appointment with Baker's Tax and Accounting Service? 
  • Appointment requests can be made in the client portal. VIEW SCHEDULING INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO HERE
  • Appointments can be requested by calling the office line at 202-563-7640. Leave a detailed message if the voicemail picks up your call instead of a live person. 
  • Make sure you receive an appointment confirmation via text or email. If you did not get a confirmation, your appointment may not be on our schedule. 
What do I need to do to prepare for my appointment? 
Be sure to have all your data SUBMITTED 5 BUSINESS DAYS prior to your appointment or your appointment WILL BE CANCELLED. The 5 BUSINESS DAYS are TUESDAY to SATURDAY.  Our office is closed on Sunday and Monday.  You will need to contact the office to reschedule.
This requirement is not a new process. We must adhere to the process to avoid inconveniences to the preparer as well as the other clients. There will be no exceptions.

How to submit documents needed for the appointment?  
DO NOT EMAIL ANYTHING for CYBER SECURITY PROTECTION.
  • Documents are preferred to be uploaded to the client portal
  • Fax 202-408-8896
  • If you need to mail your documents you will have to communicate with office staff to get approval and it must be certified and tracked. 

Is there a cancellation fee? 
PLEASE UNDERSTAND EVERYONES TIME IS VALUABLE. YOU MUST CANCEL A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT WITH 48 HOUR NOTICE OR YOU WILL BE SUBJECT TO A $25 CANCELLATION FEE WHICH WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY ADDED TO YOUR INVOICE. NO SHOWS/NO CALLS WILL AUTOMATICALLY HAVE $25 ADDED TO THE INVOICE FOR THE RESCHEDULED APPOINTMENT.

How are payments being accepted? 
  • All payments are rendered at the time of service. 
  • Payments can be made in the portal.
  • We accept cash, credit, debit, checks.
    • No Apple Pay, Cash App, Venmo, or Zelle. 

Note: The IRS is still processing previous years returns and refunds, as well as updating their website to indicate your return is being processed.  We do not have additional information on this matter and we all are in a state of waiting. We highly recommend that you contact the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 for further assistance.
